Aubrey O’Day has likely met best friend Jenna Jameson’s twins, Jesse Jameson and Journey Jett, who were born Monday. (Dad is boyfriend Tito Ortiz, 34.) After all, the former porn superstar, 34, first broke the news of her pregnancy to the ex-Danity Kane singer.
“I was the first person she wrote,” Aubrey, 25, says. “I still save the text messages. She was like ‘I just want you to know, my best friend, that I’m pregnant. Tito and I are expecting.’”
In fact, Aubrey’s hoping to be named godmother of the twins.
“Hell yeah!” she says. “I’m going to be the one who stands next to Jen and buys the babies everything.”
What makes Jenna a great friend to Aubrey?
“Jenna’s a little bit older than me, and she’s been approached in similar ways I have,” she tells me. “Not to the same degree because we have different professions, but anytime you’re a person who is heavily scrutinized, which I am – that’s just a role that I got – I think it can be discouraging. You start to question yourself, and it becomes trying. She’s helped me breathe through all those emotions.”

Starts off a little confusing with: “What did the king of all things say he wanted when he started his career? Simple. “Cocaine and p*ssy.”
She goes on to describe who we think is P. Diddy, before getting down to business. I use that intro to bring this idea to the table: Aren’t we all taking ourselves a lil’ too seriously?…. What I’ve experienced on the music end is a constant pressure to ‘ACT right and SPEAK right.’ The industry people telling me this are not trying to instill better behavior in order to help make me a better person or allow me to learn some valuable life lesson… So what I love about the mogul’s less than politically correct or “wrong” answer, is maybe we all ought to lighten up and allow our artists to be what they are and say what they really feel or think instead of giving the ‘vague and opinion less’answer as taught to my generation of artists in order to achieve ‘credibility and longevity’ to sell more records…
Maybe next time the answer should be something as simple as ‘cocaine and p*ssy.’ ”
Aubrey O’Day is pretty proud of making the cover of the March issue of Playboy magazine and enjoyed the experience so much she plans to do it again — but push a few more boundaries next time around.
“I absolutely want to do it again, any day. I’ve been asked to actually,” O’Day told Tarts last week. “I only took a little bit off this time so I’ll be back.”
But it seems as though the former “Danity Kane” diva will have to be careful stepping out in public as life has been a little scarier since she flashed her flesh for the men’s mag.
“I get sent a lot of creepy pictures like of guys licking the pages,” she admitted. “It’s slightly weird.”
And even though Diddy booted the blonde bombshell from his girl group “Danity Kane” last year, the 25-year-old’s public profile seems to have skyrocketed and she’s certainly not allowing the let-down hinder her happiness.
“Everything in life happens for a reason. A lot of people last year were fired, we are in a recession,” O’Day admitted. “We are all going thru hard times. I’m just a public representative for being fired in 2008 and moving on in 2009.”
Melody Thornton from The Pussycat Dolls reveals that though Danity Kane have split, the group may return as a musical duo. Opening up the possibility to MTV, Melody says that Dawn Richard, one of the two remaining members of Danity Kane, has worked with P. Diddy and another girl, whose name is yet to be disclosed.
“I know that Dawn is actually working with Puffy – and I probably shouldn’t say it – and another girl, and they’re going to do a group,” Melody explains. “So, big ups to you, Dawn Richard! … Kill it!”
Danity Kane have officially split after Shannon Bex refused to show up with Dawn Richard and Aundrea Fimbres during the making of MTV’s “Making the Band 4″ back in January. At that time, Dawn said, “As of right now, [Danity Kane doesn't exist]. It’s devastating for me.”
Aside from the news of Danity Kane possibly returning as a duo, D. Wood and Aubrey O’Day, two of Danity Kane’s former members, have been busy with their own project. While D. Wood is recording songs for her upcoming mixtape series titled “Independence Day”, Aubrey is cooking up “danceable music” for her solo studio album.
And check out this casting call for MTV’s Making HIS Band. Big ups to you Dawn Richard, you were destined to be a back-up singer, kill it!
Like the rest of us, the Pussycat Dolls watched in amazement last year as Danity Kane disintegrated on “Making the Band.” Unlike the rest of us, though, they had a different perspective on things: They knew DK personally.
So when MTV News spoke to the Dolls backstage at the kickoff of Britney Spears’ Circus tour, we decided to ask them about the breakup of Danity Kane, the fallout after that split and the pressures of keeping a girl group together.
“We are sisters,” PCD’s Ashley Roberts said. “And there’s moments where no matter who you are, you’re going through personal things, as well as things in your career, and so sometimes your head’s not in the right place or you’re emotional about something, and we have times where we’re going through stuff, as every human being does, but we try to not take it personally and to communicate. And about Danity Kane, it’s a sad thing that they did fall apart. We had been on tour with them, with Christina [Aguilera in 2007, on her Back to Basics tour], and we got to know each one of them, and we wish them each their own success. I know Dawn [Richard] and Aundrea [Fimbres] are getting together, and so power to them.”
So while PCD are saddened by Danity Kane’s split, they can also understand why it happened. After all, being an all-girl group is tough, especially one that operates almost exclusively under the spotlight. After all, they’ve been doing it for nearly four years now. But they’ve learned how to make it work, thanks to some advice from some fairly high-profile friends.
“You know, a couple of years ago, we were hanging out with U2, and I made friends with the Edge, and I talked to him like, ‘Wow, you guys get along so well, and you’re so successful,’ and one of the things he sad was that envy is evil, and to make sure you understand your place in the group and understand that everyone has their own spot in the group. It fits like a puzzle,” Doll Jessica Sutta said. “We’ve managed to have a lot of respect for each other, because we’ve built a sisterhood, and we love each other, and we know that when we’re onstage, each one is as important as the next. You know? Nicole is our lead singer, we support her as she supports us … we make it work.”
“Touring is not easy,” PCD’s Kimberly Wyatt added. “Being in a girl group is not easy. But it’s all about being passionate, and we all grew up believing in dreams that were bigger than us, and we served a bigger purpose in life. And I believe that we are together for a reason: to tell a story. We’re not only girls in little clothes that get onstage and sing amazing songs and dance our butts off, we have a purpose in life. We have a lot of younger fans that look up to us, and we take our roles very seriously, and we do our best to spread our positivity and love to everyone.”
EarthTimes.Org: Louis Vuitton Malletier and Bad Boy Records, a joint venture between Bad Boy Entertainment and Warner Music Group, today announced the signing of an amicable settlement agreement regarding claims brought by Louis Vuitton against the recording group Danity Kane for the unauthorized use of Louis Vuitton’s intellectual property.
As part of the settlement, Bad Boy Records agrees to remove from Danity Kane’s self-titled debut-album, as well as from two related videos, visual references to Louis Vuitton trademarks. Going forward Bad Boy will make available amended versions of the album and videos without the Louis Vuitton content and shall not use Louis Vuitton intellectual property in the future without authorization. The financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
Nathalie Moulle-Berteaux, Intellectual Property Director of Louis Vuitton said, “We appreciate Warner Music Group’s and Bad Boy’s commitment to educate their artists about the importance of respecting our world renowned Toile Monogram and Multicolore marks, and their cooperation in protecting Louis Vuitton’s intellectual property. This worldwide agreement, combined with our previously announced agreement with Sony BMG in 2008, demonstrates our successful efforts throughout the music industry to defend our brand and intellectual property from unauthorized use, and to protect the best interest of our customers.”
Aubrey O’Day may be known for her salacious outfits and sexy poses, but there’s more than meets the eye to the former Danity Kane singer.
What’s her plan B?
“I was actually going to Columbia for law school, and I wanted to do international law,” the fun, friendly star, 25, tells me. “I wanted to save refugees. That’s what I probably would be doing. I come from a family of attorneys, so I’ve constantly been in a political mind state since childhood. If I weren’t doing that, as far as more fun careers, I always wanted to be a professional ice skater. Like, win the gold medal, or I’ve always wanted to be Miss America.”
Why Miss America?
“I always wanted to be in a place where I got to do art, and once I got there was able to affect as many people as possible. I spent my college years traveling around the world. I have two charities internationally, and I do a lot of really good things. But I would say I have a great voice and I’m very honest. I represent all kinds of women. I show that you can be extra sexy and also be extra smart.”
This California girl is a big advocate for believing the world is her oyster.
“Traveling around the world and being exposed to everything that I have has made me an interesting person,” she says. “Not in a cocky way, but I’m very proud of the woman I’ve struggled to become. I think if you believe it in life, the world is at your feet and you can do anything that you want to do.”
And Aubrey has a laundry list of things do accomplish. For instance, she’s ready for a big family. (She already pampers her little dog, Ginger.)
“I want to be a movie star, a solo artist, a television star, I want to be an amazing philanthropist and then I want to adopt a whole bunch of babies from a ton of different countries and have my own little rainbow tribe like Josephine Baker.”
Aubrey O’Day says she would consider reforming with her old bandmates in Danity Kane at some point in the future, if the opportunity ever arose. The singer was fired from the TV group, who were put together as part of Making The Band by mentor Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, in December 2008, along with D. Woods. Following the departure of another band member – Shannon Bex – Danity Kane split officially in January 2009. Despite being ejected, O’Day speaks fondly of her time in the group, as she tells MTV: “Danity Kane was a wonderful group, and like all things, nothing is forever. We had a great run and we were very successful.” And as for a reunion, Aubrey hasn’t ruled it out: “I have so much respect for that situation, if there was ever interest in me coming back… and making music with the girls, I would never say no to something like that.”
We all know that curvaceous singer Aubrey O’Day got the boot from her all girl group Danity Kane on the Part 1 of the season finale of Making the Band 4…. but did her Playboy shoot have something to do with it? “You’ve seen the show, that’s what happened. I got fired,” Aubrey told Hollyscoop.com while attending the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. “Playboy came afterward. It had nothing to do with why I got fired.” The “truth” according to P. Diddy (who produced Making the Band) was that Aubrey’s fame was to blame. “I just want to work with the young lady that I signed, not the person that fame has made her,” he said via satellite on that Tuesday show. It seems odd that an infamous Hollywood mogul, such as Diddy, chose to point a dismissive finger rather than extend a helping hand… regardless, Aubrey is moving on without clinging to the hope of a DK reunion. “I think everything happens in life for a reason. I don’t really have a choice, I was fired and now I just have to move forward and try to learn from that experience,” Aubrey told hollyscoop.com. Since October, Aubrey has been in the studio working on a possible solo album. She says “ I am getting things off my chest, playing with different styles of music. I am staying true to R&B roots but I am incorporating a little bit of rock in to it now.”
Rocking with her music, rolling with the punches, and posing on the cover of Playboy’s March issue is keeping the blond busy right now. Do you guys think Aubrey will make it as a solo artist?

I guessed right! Aubrey will indeed be walking at tomorrow’s Richie Rich show at Fashion Week and she wants YOU to choose which outfit she will be strutting down the runway with. Read this article from MTV.
When we were invited to join ex-Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day on her journey as a model for the Richie Rich show during New York Fashion Week, we eagerly accepted the invite; wherever Aubrey and Richie go, a party is sure to follow. So, when I — along with my fellow MTV-ers Akshay, Christina and Lisa — showed up to the Richie Rich studio downtown where Aubrey was being fitted, we weren’t sure what to expect. The clothes were a fantastic mix of pink and prints and ruffles and sparkles … which is always expected from a Richie Rich collection. Much like the clothes, Aubrey sparkles — the girl knows how to show up to a shoot, be professional and always, I repeat, always show everyone the time of their lives. She, along with her partner-in-crime Richie Rich, took a mundane task like trying on clothes and made it super fun. She tried on a few different looks — one was a very hot pink top that Richie said reminded him of Barbie. The duo paired it with hot pants and left just the right amount to the imagination. She also tried on a ruffle dress that had a special “Celebutante” print embroidered on it. It was a bit more demure, but just as exciting. Head over to MTV.com to vote now!
Check out Aubrey on KTLA news in Los Angeles today. In the interview she talks about her Playboy cover, Danity Kane breakup, and her new hair dye product for dogs called Gingerlights (and all natural product that is animal friendly and earth friendly! She looks absolutely amazing.
Aubrey O’Day certainly isn’t shy about her body. And with a Playboy photo spread about to hit newsstands on Friday, O’Day thinks that by posing for the famed men’s magazine she can change people’s idea of sexuality and show people it’s OK to express yourself in such a way.
“We constantly feel the need to not say this or not wear this or do that, and taking it all off and being nude is the most natural state that you can be in,” she told MTV News about the pictorial. “Being able to feel comfortable with that and show that sex can be a beautiful, comfortable — your sexuality can be a beautiful, comfortable thing — is going to be empowering for people. “And I think it’s an important thing to be comfortable with your sexuality and feel liberated and not feel that you have to restrict yourself.” She continued to say that if people “saw sex and sexuality in that [empowering] way in society then we’d have less AIDS, less STDs, less teen pregnancy and less girl-on-girl hate.”
This isn’t the first time that O’Day has turned heads with a racy photo shoot. Back in September 2008, while she was still a member of Danity Kane, she posed for Complex. Although she wasn’t naked in the pictures, they were still very provocative. But, the singer shares that when it comes to photo shoots of this nature, it’s just a fantasy world.
“But it’s acting, it’s a spread and it’s creating a character — and for the people that loved it, great, because I loved it,” she said. “I thought it was amazing, and for the people that didn’t like it, I was playing a role and maybe they didn’t like that role and it made them uncomfortable — but either way, it was just a role and it was fun.”
In some ways, the Complex shoot played into the image that people already had of O’Day, and she doesn’t mind if people walk away from it thinking that she’s the sexed-up girl in those pictures. “Obviously I did a good job at it because everyone believed it one way or another. I love doing stuff like that,” she said. “I love becoming a character — that’s why I enjoy doing movies and TV, and even reality TV to a certain extent, because you become a character and it’s fun. It’s fun to go home and be yourself — and then wake up and be somebody else sometimes.”
These shoots — and possibly even her decision not to return to Danity Kane — are all decisions O’Day made because she likes to keep things fresh, she said. “For me, I need constant change and I need to constantly be inspired,” she explained. “I need to constantly have something thrown at me that I don’t know if I can handle and figure out how to handle it — for me that’s what gives me value as a person in life.”
Remember Richie Rich, the designer who used to create the now-defunct Heatherette line with Traver Rains? Yes, the one who loves glitter, roller skates everywhere, and is generally loud and delightful? Well he’s back. We just got an invitation to see his Fashion Week show on Wednesday, February 18, at the Waldorf Astoria. “Blondes have more fun!” it boasts above the dress code, which — and this is the best part — reads “Dress/Attire: Sparkling.” We’re so excited we might just break out the body glitter now (yes, we carry that around). Last Fashion Week, Richie was supposed to stage a show for his Hot Topic collection. Neither show nor collection ever materialized, even after Aubrey O’Day told us she starred in the ad campaign and would walk in the show. Needless to say, we felt horribly teased. But just receiving a JPEG of the invitation has already partly quenched our thirst for the glitter and unicorns of Heatherette’s heyday. May their reign shine on like a thousand disco balls.
It’s hardly news that Aubrey O’Day — former member of Danity Kane and reigning bad girl of the pop universe — posed for Playboy back in November. O’Day shot the spread with photographer Markus Klinko, and the issue hits stands this Friday. But so far, O’Day hasn’t spoken in-depth about the shoot, or revealed why she decided to pose for the magazine. Until now, that is.
“You could never imagine how empowering it is to be nude in front of cameras and have people looking at you in that way and seeing you as beautiful,” she told MTV News. “You’re seeing yourself as beautiful. I mean, a lot of the times I think I’m seen as a bad girl, and I think that’s because I’m so open.” O’Day said that she agreed to the pictorial only after the magazine made Klinko available. He’s snapped portraits of everyone from Mariah Carey to Pamela Anderson, in addition to the cover of Beyoncé’s 2003 album Dangerously In Love, and O’Day knew he’d make her Playboy spread something to remember.
“I only agreed to do it because [Markus] was shooting it,” she said. “He is unbelievably amazing. He agreed with me that we needed to do something classy, iconic and truly beautiful. I mean, I think a lot of the type of way I’m portrayed in the media isn’t always the way I am in my heart. And I think that we were able to capture that with [this shoot]. It’s going to be very elegant, very iconic,” she emphasized. “We wanted to do something very beautiful and classic. And I’m very excited about, just in general, how liberating the shoot was and how great it’s going to be to express myself and be comfortable with my sexuality. I think in society we tend to put ourselves in boxes and corners and restrict ourselves, and we constantly feel the need to not say this or not wear this … and taking it all off and being nude is the most natural state that you can be in.”
And what does she think her detractors will say about the Playboy spread? Well, to be honest, she doesn’t really care. Because she’s not listening. “I’m always gonna be true, whether people like it or not. I’m just gonna be me. I’m gonna be real. I’m not gonna do anything because people want me to. I’m not gonna hide something about me,” she laughed. “I think people are scared to be who they are, and if anybody’s gonna go out there and let everybody know, ‘Be who you are … no judgment here,’ it’s gonna be me.” Stay tuned for more from Aubrey O’Day — including photos and video from her Playboy shoot — coming soon!
Be sure to catch Aubrey as she makes an appearance on the Chelsea Lately show tonight! The show airs on E! at 11:30 p.m., check your local listings! We will probably have the video up for download, not completely sure yet. Source: EOnline.com
Aubrey O’Day is looking for a fresh start this year — with a Playboy pictorial and new music on the way — but before she goes forward, she’s looking back and commenting on Danity Kane’s apparent breakup. Last week, Dawn Richard told MTV that Danity Kane is over, and O’Day blogged in response to those comments. “My theme this year; let go of the past, and focus on all of the beautiful things that are about to fill our future!” she blogged. “I know most of you find that relevant to me in relation to my departure from dear ol’ DK. I’ve stayed away from directly responding or commenting on the negativity, or misguided views and judgments that have unfortunately been the voice of summarizing Danity Kane … it’s only fair to finally put my thoughts of DK to rest.”
She noted that being in the group “was a beautiful experience, filled with all of life’s wonderful ups and downs,” and wrote that the reason for the split was not because the girls “suffered bad relationships, felt suffocated, unappreciated [and] sick of giving in. ” In what can be assumed is her response to recent interviews with her former bandmates, she wrote, “You may be seeing expression of emotions succeeding expression of actual reality, but that does not change the reality that every girl in this group had a dream, and we fought long and hard to see it become reality.”
She expressed love for her former bandmates and seems not to harbor any ill will toward them. “I will forever be blessed to have had that experience,” she wrote. “Each one of those girls is a talent to be reckoned with … and beyond pure talent, which I hands down experienced on a daily basis from each girl, each girl really did want to be a role model and change the world in their own little way. And that’s what made us real, what made us the truth, what made us something to believe in, and that inner desire on all of our parts has not changed.”
Check out our big night out at the Sundance film festival with Aubrey and Paris Hilton — and be sure to check back next week, when we’ll have more big news from Aubrey!
Just a day after Dawn Richard broke the news that Danity Kane are over for good, Day26 said they might know why the ladies couldn’t resolve their issues: They weren’t honest with themselves and their fans.
“I think even with the Danity Kane situation, I think they kept things secret to the public,” Will Taylor told MTV News while in the studio working on the band’s new album. “So their breakup was a big surprise. That takes a lot to keep all that bottled up inside, and they exploded to the point they can never return.” He also wasn’t surprised to learn that Shannon Bex, who at the end of last season was one of the three remaining members of the band, didn’t return to continue working with the group for this upcoming season of “Making the Band.”
“Shannon wanted to be all five,” he said. “She wanted to be Danity Kane. She had a whole ‘nother life. So at the end of the day, she said she wasn’t going to come.” Meanwhile, Will’s bandmate Qwanell “Que” Mosley is still pretty perplexed as to what exactly happened to Bex that made her not want to try again. “I don’t even know what happened to that,” he said. “It hurt all of us, ’cause we were family. It hurts, and we’re human. We were family, and when your family does shady stuff and they don’t apologize for it or fix it, it’s like, ‘Damn.’ “
OMG! Will what’s his face and what’s her name shut up? Stop trying to be the next Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt! Even though your pretty close, stop! No one is jealous of you, no one cares about you, so mind your own damn business! They’ll be hurting when their careers that never happen goes down the drain next.
When “Making the Band” returns on February 12, fans already know two former members will be missing: Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods, who were dismissed from the group by Diddy last season. But they’ll probably be surprised that Shannon Bex isn’t there either, which apparently means the end of the band.
“As of right now, [Danity Kane doesn't exist],” Dawn Richard told MTV News on Wednesday (January 28). “It’s devastating for me. You’ll see me and Drea [Aundrea Fimbres] try and pick up the pieces on our own [on this season's show] — pieces that we didn’t even make,” she continued. “We didn’t even break it and we’re trying to sweep it up ourselves. Puff invited all the girls to come back on this season and they chose not to. Only two of us showed up. That’s fine if that’s the choice. It changes [our situation] completely,” she said. “We have fans out there who love Danity Kane. We love Danity Kane. It’s hard. We’re sitting here trying to make sense of it now. It’s hard. We’re put in this position that we didn’t ask to be in and we’re being told to fix it.” Richard said that Bex apparently made the decision not to show up for the season on her own.
“I don’t know why [Bex left]. I think she’s just happy. I don’t want to even try to answer it ’cause that’s not fair to her. I haven’t [spoken to her] but I heard she’s doing well with her husband and she got a house. I love her, but I don’t know.”
Bex was coy about the issue in an interview published earlier this week.
Richard admitted that she was as surprised as anyone that she and Drea were the only members on the set. “We are the only two that showed up,” she said. “The thing about it … I thought we were all going to come back and talk, or maybe if Aubrey didn’t come back, ’cause I don’t know how Puff was feeling about that, if the four of us got together. I didn’t know what to expect. I just know I got off the plane and found out I was the only one there and Drea came the next day.” And although Fimbres and Richard were both present for the taping of the show, it seems that Richard spent a lot of her time hanging out with fellow “MTB” castmates Day 26 trying to make the best of the situation. “I was there every day, on my own. Sometimes Drea was there, sometimes she wasn’t, ’cause she had to go fix some stuff at home,” she said. “So it was me and six guys, which is great ’cause I’m a guy girl! It was fun. [But] it was very hard not knowing what the next step was going to be.”
One thing that Richard is certain of is her disbelief at everything that’s happened with Danity Kane in the last few months, which not only included the two dismissals but also news about Aubrey O’Day’s sexuality and her forthcoming Playboy spread.
“I’m still surprised at it all. I’m still trying to recover from the first fire,” she said. “So I’m still confused. I still don’t know. I’m just being so honest. I have no idea.” A spokesperson for Diddy and Danity Kane’s rep at Atlantic Records had no comment. MTV News will have lots more from our interview with Dawn Richard in the coming days.
Viewers can see everything unfold on the next season of “Making the Band,” which premieres on February 12
