There’s been a lot of debate about the Hitchhiker lyrics, and even some crazy nonsensical stuff thrown around as potential. I’ve been listening extra hard and thinking it through and I’ve posted below what I believe to be the correct lyrics to Hitchhiker so that you can all sing along!
Check out these cute paparazzi videos of Aubrey arriving at Mr Chows with Cesar to meet with Steven Rifkind. Fresh from the set of Hair Battle Spectacular, her hair, makeup and outfit all look fabulous! We’re loving the new look!

Edit: As of April 12th, 2011, Automatic has peaked at number 35 on iTunes overall charts and peaked at number 20 on iTunes Pop Charts. If she went out to promote the release more, I’m sure it would go up more.
Update: Automatic has hit radio station across the US, you can find all the info of stations that have the track after the cut!
As of May 2011, Automatic has sold 33,000 copies on iTunes. MORE BELOW THE CUT….
Aubrey O’Day, who endured a very public split with girl group Danity Kane, is not shy about sharing her struggles with the world. She is not apprehensive about laying her cards face up on the table, letting her fans and adoring public in on some aspects of her private world. It’s a risky way to be, but for O’Day, the dividends are beneficial and worth it, as being open and honest connects her even more deeply to her fans. Her infectious, electro-pop new single, “Automatic,” is out now and it’s the dance anthem of the summer; you will not be able to escape the song’s gravitational pull as it will magnetically attract you to the dance floor! It’s that good.
ARTISTdirect.com News Editor Amy Sciarretto spoke to O’Day just as the single landed and she was candid about her feelings for her former Danity Kane bandmates; working as a solo artist; putting her struggles in the spotlight; and her ability to make high end clothes for her dogs. Aubrey O’Day is a powerhouse who may be so hot that she sets off smoke alarms and her new single may cause you to put down your drink and saunter on the dance floor of whatever club you are gracing with your presence, but underneath it all, she’s as real and as down-to-earth as you are. She has fears, she rises when she falls and she knows what she wants. This is, after all, a girl who was handpicked by P. Diddy as part of MTV’s Making the Band and who followed up her exit from Danity Kane on Broadway in Hairspray. There’s something special about Aubrey O’Day — her personality is as infectious as her new single!
You can check O’Day out on her highly rated Oxygen network show, All About Aubrey.
Although you cannot download the MP3 just yet, you can head over toAmazon and check out the sales page for Automatic! Whilst there be sure to check out the 30 second preview of the track, it’s sounding amazing and is a vast improvement on the 92.7 copy we’ve all been listening to. As with iTunes, the MP3 will become available for download on the 12th of April (presumably at midnight)! Get your credit cards ready AODers!
Check out the image above, posted by Aubrey yesterday on Twitpic, depicting her signing her record deal with Steven Rifkind at Universal Records HQ in New York City. Congratulations Aubrey! We knew you could do it!
Two and a half years after her departure from Danity Kane, Aubrey O’Day is putting out new music again.
The singer will release “Automatic,” an electro-charged club track, exclusively via iTunes on April 12. The song was produced by Danity Kane collaborator Adonis, who’s also scored hits with Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Usher, and O’Day tells Billboard.com that even though she “wanted to come with a ballad first just to throw people for a loop,” she’s happy with “Automatic” as her solo career’s calling card.
” ‘Automatic’ is the right fit for where music is headed now,” O’Day explains. “It’s a pop-dance track, but I wanted to go in the club and write a song about not having to put on all the glamour and the glitz. So many dance songs are about putting on Louis Vuitton, getting dressed up and everything, and I wanted to do a song about walking in the room and getting automatically noticed and stealing everyone’s attention without trying to.”
“Automatic” is one of “at least 50″ songs that O’Day has been working on for her solo debut album for SRC/Universal Motown, a process that’s been chronicled on her Oxygen network reality series “All About Aubrey.” Future episodes will feature O’Day recording a duet with fellow Danity Kane alumnus Aundrea Fimbres, while the April 11 season finale will find O’Day “reaching out to Diddy,” who guided the group through its formation on MTV’s “Making the Band 3.”
Check out the official cover shot for Aubrey first single, “Automatic” which will be released this coming Tuesday, 12th of April exclusively on iTunes. The cover features a shot taken from Aubrey’s 2009 Playboy shoot.
Just moments ago Aubrey was live on UStream with Oxygen Bad Girl Natalie Nunn and she decided to treat us all and play a clip of her amazing new ballad “Goodbye Heartbreak” .. I ripped the audio for us all to enjoy – this is especially great for all of us who didn’t get to see her perform at Cafe Was!
Check out this newly leaked track of Danity Kane entitled Stop Time produced by Danja during the WTTDH era. Check out the song and tell us what you think. Personally, I’m glad the song didn’t make the final cut…a little bit to slowed pace for me.
And sorry for the lack of updates lately…nothing much has been going on with Ms. Aubrey and I’ve been really busy enjoying summer! Hopefully Aubrey goes full force soon..I’ll be waiting.
Some women ask if they have anything in their teeth before taking a photo. Others ask how their hair or makeup looks. Aubrey O’Day? She had a different concern before we posed for a photo at Enclave (220 W. Chicago) in the early hours of Sunday.
“Are my [breasts] showing?” asked O’Day.
Considering she was wearing a white corset that looked like it was about to give on top, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were. But I said what I normally say in these sort of awkward situations: Nothing.
The ex-Danity Kane singer adjusted her corset anyway – the same one she wore during her “Peepshow” burlesque performance on stage later that night – and smiled for the camera. This photo, unlike her nude spread in the March 2009 issue of Playboy, turned out to be SFW.
When O’Day isn’t performing in the Las Vegas-based “Peepshow,” she’s been recording a solo album. It’ll be her first album since Diddy announced that he kicked her out of Danity Kane on the season finale of “Making The Band 4” in Oct. 2008.
“It’s almost done,” O’Day said. “The sound is like big pop club-bangers. It’s got an urban edge. I tried to infuse a lot of dance and techno. There’s a little bit of rock in some of the songs. … It’s like a lot of the music I made with Danity Kane. I’m working with a lot of the same producers.”
O’Day wouldn’t say which record company is behind the album or who will make guest appearances on it. Apparently another project she’s working on, her own reality TV show, prevents her from revealing those details.
As for the network that will air her reality show, she claimed she couldn’t reveal that either. But she did say it’ll likely premiere at the end of the year, which is when she’s also hoping to release her album.
“I’m filming right now for it,” O’Day said. “It’s a docu-soap about my life. It’s going to follow me recording my album, my other business ventures and my crazy life. I don’t hold anything back and I don’t tell any lies. I think a lot of reality shows nowadays are more about creating a fantasy versus giving a reality. “I’m giving the reality.”
Meeting with my FAV choreographer Gill (DK and Janet Jackson’s). He’s doing my solo project. WORD!
Aubrey has hired herself a seriously respectable choreographer, Gil Duldulao, (a member of “The Pulse” Collective along with Laurie Ann Gibson) has not only choreographed the videos for Danity Kane’s “Bad Girl” and Janet Jackson’s “Feedback” but he has danced in many music videos and tours himself, alongside acts such as Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.
The fact that she’s now hired a choreographer and beginning meetings shows good progress on her album, or at least a single, as obviously he needs a song to choreograph. This also is a sign that she is taking her solo project very seriously (as we would expect), she’s hired a first class choreographer who already knows her style, and can no doubt push her to get the best from her. Personally I can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with together and I’m sure you can’t either!
Update: Gil tweeted Aubrey the following about their first meeting:
@AubreyODay Love you boo……been too long and look forward to your project. the music is BANANAS
Every source that comes into contact with Aubrey’s new music are giving it excellent reviews. I’m thinking she’s going to come along and blow everyone away!
Tweeting last night while in the studio with Aubrey and her producer Adonis, Asia’h said:
@AubreyODay was in here finishing up a song her and @ThatDudeAdonis did!..its fuckin crazy!!!..the world is deff in for it! they makin some heat in there yo!.aubrey is the shit!.world beware!!.i think we have a problem!!”
It’s great to be hearing such positive things about Aubrey’s music from other people in the industry, such as the former Idol contestant. Aubrey is obviously taking her time to meticulously put together an amazing album that’s gonna blow us all away! The waiting is hard but hopefully it’ll all be worth it, and we’ll have a ton of fantastic songs to knock Damaged off of our iTunes top 25 number 1 spot! Meanwhile, Aubrey tweeted the above photo of herself messing around in the studio!
MicahJesse.com has posted a new song by O’Neal McKnight ft. Aubrey entitled Fashion Week. Apparently, the song is suppose to debut at the Richie Rich’s show on February 18 during New York Fashion week. Not really feeling the song even though she only sings the chorus..What do ya’ll think?
You can now purchase “I Got It” by Donnie Walhberg ft. our girl Aubrey O’Day on iTunes. Partial proceeds will go to the Susan B. Koman breast cancer research. Also request it at your radio stations! It was on the New Music Face-Off on Houston’s KRBE the other night and the song beat out Bad Romance by Lady Gaga, 59 to 41! SO REQUEST REQUEST REQUEST! The single is also released on iTunes worldwide for international fans out there.
Here is “I Got It” from New Kids on the Block, Donnie Wahlberg featuring our girl Aubrey O’Day, the song premiered on CHUMFM in Canada and is Donnie’s latest single. The song will be available on iTunes next week and partial proceeds will go to the Susan B. Koman breast cancer research. Aubrey sounds so good on the song! She is getting better and better each time we hear her on a track. Hopefully we will see a music video for this. What do ya’ll think?
